When we signed the girls up for track I thought it would be great for Abby to build her stamina and it would be a segway for Grace into either lacrosse or soccer. I had no idea that my girls would turn out to be track stars. Abby can long jump over 5 feet and Grace is a running machine.
We had no idea how much our girl was capable of. She did the mile a couple weeks back and we were so proud. Last week we took her to run and she did her 100m in 21 seconds, the 200m in 50 seconds and she did a mile in 11.5 minutes!!! I couldn't believe it. The amazing thing is she doesn't need us to pace her or run with her or anything. She just runs. She paces herself like a champ. She waves when she goes around and she keeps track of how far she has run.
She is blowing my mind.

Does your town (which I believe is next door to mine) offer track for kindergarten through the school, or is it a township thing? I'm a runner and my 5 year old will be in kindergarten this fall, and he keeps telling me he wants to run like I do. I'm not sure where to look.
