We decided about eight months ago that our little family needs to take a break. So we decided to make some smart money choices and save enough for a trip to Disney World. It didn't leave us much time to save for this big trip but we did it! We went for some of the big upgrades and I am so glad we did.

We are home (I am sad to say) and we had a very lovely week at the beach. I have been blessed with three beach bums as children so this is incredibly helpful for hours on the beach. Coming home is painful to say the least but unfortunately part of the story.
I thought that by the time I got home I would be ready to write. Over the course of a week I have so many pictures and stories and experiences. Unfortunately I haven't been able to find the time to get down to it. The pictures are still in the camera and the stories are still in my brain. I am guessing this is going to take a few posts. ;D
We left for Florida on Sunday morning and the excitement in our house was palpable!
In four days we board a plane and head to Florida. We have been planning our trip to Disney World for over two years now. When we started planning there was no Jack. My Dad didn't have cancer. My kids were only 3 years old. The boys were 9 and 10 and Genna was only 15. Life looked different. The trip we planned got cancelled. My Dad got sick and all of us made the decision that this trip would be taken when he was well and life was on track. It was a rough year. We almost lost my Dad. We almost lost Jack. We hit a lot of bumps in the road. But we survived.
And now we take our victory lap. We get to take the trip we were going to take just under a year ago. And our vacation looks even better than it did before. We have Jack. The kids are all older and more self-sufficient. My Dad is doing amazing. We get to stay ON SITE at the newest resort! (I have never stayed on site before so I am stoked about this!) It feels like it's all coming together.
It will be a whirlwind. We know that. It will be a little insane at times. There will be more than enough meltdowns and attitudes to go around with kids ranging from 17 (and no, she doesn't really count as a kid anymore... but to me she's still a kid!) to 5 months. But it's gonna rock. It's the first vacation in a VERY LONG TIME where my Mom and I don't have to do any cooking, cleaning, shopping or meal planning. I can't wait!

For those of you who have been reading for a while you know that last year we had a trip to Disney World planned. Just two weeks before we were supposed to leave (also two weeks before Christmas) my Dad was diagnosed with Stage 4 lymphoma. We decided to postpone our trip until my Dad was better. We always felt like the day would come when we could re-plan our trip and take the trip that we were meant to take. My Dad came very close to not making it last year but he's healthy right now and we are going to Disney World!!!

Obviously we ate back from vacation. It wasn't nearl long enough but it was love while it lasted. The weather was nice up until the last couple of days. It was a little hot but not too bad. The last two days rained on and off which stunk but what can you do.
Vacation with an infant, two five year olds, an eleven and ten year old is a lot of work. Their is still a lot of laundry, cleaning and cooking even though it's vacation. I didn't get much down time but it sure beat being home. The best part is getting plenty of time with my parents, brother, sister and all the kids.
