You know how sometimes it seems that life is rounding up all the lemons that it can find and systematically hurling them at you? But then, in some cases something happens to you that manages to restore your faith in mankind. Well, that is what happened to me today. As I opened my mail to find the usual bills and junk mail there was a small envelope with no return address. When I opened it I found that one of my blog readers had sent me a wonderful card with a fifty dollar bill in it. This person did not leave their name, yet I hope very much that they will read this. Your kindness towards me touched my soul in a way I can't explain. Having to find a way of "affording a child" has become one of our greatest struggles of our lives. Having help from friends and family is the only way that this is possible. Fifty dollars can mean the difference between getting the IVF bill paid and not being able to afford it.
More importantly, going through infertility and miscarriage has a way of turning a positive person a little more cynical, and little more sarcastic and pessimistic. It is only through random acts of kindness, like this, that I can manage to remember how wonderful life is and how wonderful people can be. So, for that I thank you from the bottom of my heart.
