Ultrasound #4

Yesterday was ultrasound #4, at 8 weeks gestation. Baby A & B looked great. Their heartbeats were a strong 158 and 170. They are developing beautifully and it takes my breath away to see how much they change and grow in a weeks time. Their hearts went from little flutters to big pumping blobs. You can now make out the head and the body when they do the scan.

The bad news is that Little C didn't grow much since last week and her heartbeat is weak and irregular. The docs are now about 99% sure that C won't make it. I already knew this was the greatest likelihood, but it still sucks. What we do know is that little one is a heck of a fighter (that's why I am assuming she has to be a girl). I go back in two weeks for another scan and they expect that between now and then reduction will happen.

The docs and nurses are very sensitive about it, but also vividly explain why twins is better for me and the babies. All of our health will be much better because of Little C's sacrifice.

I will post some pics as soon as I scan them.

C probably is a girl and based on the heart beats A and B are one of each.
I have a friend who tried forever to get pregnant, she seemed to be misscarrying a few weeks later but it turned out she was losing a twin. I asked, with true curiosity, "How do you mourn that?" She said; you thank God for the one you have. She never really answered the question. At least I dont think she did

Will continue to keep all of the family in my thoughts/prayers and continue to hope for the best -- whatever that may be. ((hugs))

Good news about baby A & B but so sad to hear about Baby C especially knowing how hard she's fighting to stay alive.

About this blog

Over 8 years we have struggled through 3 IUI's, 6 rounds of IVF, several RE's, hundreds of appointments and the loss of three little angels. Now we find ourselves the proud parents of two perfect little girls and a wonderful little boy!!

Both of our girls struggle with some disabilities but that won't keep us down. Each day has it's own brand of insanity but we love it. Most days I am more monkey wrangler than mother but I do the best I can. Todays goal - getting to tomorrow.
