I had my OB check today and things looked good overall. I have gained 4 pounds since my last check, which is right on track. I was a little afraid that it would be more since I am feeling pretty big. It took the OB almost 10 minutes to get the girls heartbeats recorded. They were moving and wiggling instead of cooperating. You could hear the heartbeats as they swam by, but they did not want to hold still long enough to record. When we finally did get them Gracie was in the low 150's and Abby in the mid 140's. My BP is ok 133/76 and no sugar in my urine, unlike last time. I have to go next week for the glucose test, yuck! My doc says that it doesn't technically have to be fasting, but she recommends fasting in order to get more accurate results. I am just praying that I don't need to do the 3 hour test. I can only imagine how fun that would be while pregnant with twins. The fasting along should be a blast. I also not have to start seeing the OB every two weeks.
On another note I have been trying to come up with ways to deal with my back pain. I use a heating pad and a massage chair, take Tylenol, stretch and walk and still nothing is helping. It is strange because it always seems to be on one side more than the other. To top it off I have this stupid Restless Leg crap still. Trying to sit down each evening is loads of fun between the back aches and the legs that won't hold still. I do realize that it could be a heck of a lot worse, but I just needed to whine for a minute.

While I am only expecting one, I found that prenatal yoga helped my back aches a TON. I have no idea if it will help you or not, but thought I'd pass it along
FWIW, When I was pregnant with the triplets 2 yrs ago I began visiting a Chiropractor. I continued throughout this recent pregnancy and attribute my feeling good to the regular adjustments. I called around to many Chiropractors before finding some that specialized in pregnancy chiropractic, but I also live in a fairly rural area. Just an idea... Good luck!
Oh!! Also, I used to take a tennis ball and put it in a tube sock and throw it over my shoulder, lean up against a wall and it enabled me to be able to work out some of those nasty pressure points I had.
I agree on the chiro, but you already know that. :) Hope that you find a solution and goodluck next week w/ the GTT!
You guys are so right about the chiro. I am waiting for the nurse case manager at my insurance to get back to me about seeing one. I am willing to try anything and so many ppl have recommended seeing a chiro. Maybe I should call her again...
It sounds like everything is going well for the most part which is really great news! I hope you figure something out for the back pain soon, but if that's the biggest health problem there is right now, I know you are very thankful!!!
I found going to the pool really helped. I had some back pain but mostly I went for the swelling in my legs. 15 minutes of just lounging around in the water, a little movement to keep it interesting, let everything float back into place. Just taking the baby of the hipbones was a relief! The all over pressure of the water on your skin pushes the fluids back into your core and the kidney takes care of the rest. You have to pee like a racehorse when you get out.... but I say it's worth it.
Assuming you have an indoor pool you can go to...
When I was pregnant I found that sleeping on my side with a pillow under my tummy (to keep my stomach from pulling on my back) and a pillow between my knees (to help with lower back support) helped me more than anything.
