Life with Coco and Gigi... and Jack-Jack too!

Life as a Mom, A Homesteader, A Blogger and A Wife.

37 Weeks!!!

Just got back from my appointments. We started the day at 8:00 and the appointments lasted until almost 1:30. It took forever to do the amnio but they finally got Gracie to hold still long enough to do it. Boy did it hurt! I knew a big huge needle in the belly would hurt but yikes!! They got enough fluid to hopefully run the test.

We then did an NST which neither baby cooperated for. My usual nurse was on vacation and the fill-in nurse was terrible. The girls ended up passing the BPP though. Then I had to do bloodwork and pre-register for the C-section. It was a long and tiring day. Oh and they think I have cholestasis of pregnancy which is a liver problem that causes itching. Since I am delivering in two days they aren't going to do anything for it. I will have to suffer until then. I slept about 2 hours last night because of the itching so the next two nights should be interesting.

Hi Kristen, just wanted to de-lurk and wish you all the best in the exciting days ahead. I found your blog through a friend (of a friend of a friend...) I guess about a year ago, and your hope and perseverence have been inspiring. I'm so happy that this dream is coming true for you and your husband. Congratulations!

I am so excited for you! I know sleep is pretty hard for you, but try your best to get as much as possible. The first 3 months are tough, but oh-so worth it! Good luck, can't wait to hear the good news and see pics of your beautiful baby girls!

I am so excited for you! One more day!

Another c/s tip... they will likely give you something in the spinal which will make you itch. I forget what it is called, but it is a long term pain management thing.

And itch.

And itch.

They will offer you benadryl... My friend took it and it dried up her milk.

For me, I just itched. Bring some good face cream. I skipped the benadryl because it makes me miserable anyway. I itched for about 12 hours. Don't bite your nails... the raw will make it worse.

Good Luck. I am SO excited for you. I can't wait to see pictures. You will do great and all will go ok. I'm praying for all of you.

Tomorrow you become a family of 4! Yipee!!!!!

I'm thinking of you--can't wait to hear the good news and see pictures (I hope!) of your girls!!

About this blog

Over 8 years we have struggled through 3 IUI's, 6 rounds of IVF, several RE's, hundreds of appointments and the loss of three little angels. Now we find ourselves the proud parents of two perfect little girls and a wonderful little boy!!

Both of our girls struggle with some disabilities but that won't keep us down. Each day has it's own brand of insanity but we love it. Most days I am more monkey wrangler than mother but I do the best I can. Todays goal - getting to tomorrow.
