Our Vacation

We are back home now and wishing we were still on vacation. We had perfect weather for 10 days straight and such a wonderful vacation. We spent every day on the beach (although the girls and I took one day off for rest and to watch the Phillies beat the Mets). The girls either went in their little beach tent or my Mom and I wore them in our slings. They were surpringly good on the beach most days. They slept ok during the day and fairly well at night. We took the babies either to the boardwalk or the beach every night. They rode the carousel for their first amusment ride. You cannot believe the amount of attention we got on the boardwalk. I would say that in 10 days over 100 people came up and asked us questions or said how cute the babies are. It was both cool and a little wearing after a while. It is amazing how in awe people are of two babies born at the same time. It was like walking around with two little celebrities.

The best part of vacation for me was being with the family. I love waking up in the morning and having my Mom, my Dad, Genna and the boys and my siblings there. I guess I am just plain lucky that I get along so well with my family. And everyone was such a wonderful help. One night my parents took the girls and another night my older sister kept them. So we got two nights of straight sleep! The other days, when the girls got up for their morning feeding, my Mom would take them and send me back to bed. It was awesome.

The other wonderful thing that happened is that the girls really came alive this week. The stimulation did them wonders. Gracie is now smiling and laughing. She even coos, it is so adorable. She is completely holding up her head when you hold her. Abby has started supporting her head and smiles her little head off. She is a smidge behind Gracie but coming along so beautifully. I am proud (and a little sad) to say that one of my little babies is now wearing 1's in diapers. They will be 11 weeks tomorrow and were still in newborns until today. Gracie is now in 1's, Abby is still in newborns and both girls are still wearing newborn cloths. I got a lot of 3 month stuff figuring they would need it for the end of summer, but I guess not.

All in all it was a wonderful 10 days and I am sad to be home. Guess vacations can't last forever no matter how much we want them too.

About this blog

Over 8 years we have struggled through 3 IUI's, 6 rounds of IVF, several RE's, hundreds of appointments and the loss of three little angels. Now we find ourselves the proud parents of two perfect little girls and a wonderful little boy!!

Both of our girls struggle with some disabilities but that won't keep us down. Each day has it's own brand of insanity but we love it. Most days I am more monkey wrangler than mother but I do the best I can. Todays goal - getting to tomorrow.
