CHOP Appointment Tomorrow

Tomorrow we have another appointment at CHOP. I can't help but get the heebie jeebies just thinking about that place with all we went through when I was pregnant. Hopefully everything with Miss Abs will be okay but please pray for her. Gigi will be staying home with Daddy so she can stick to her routine. My Mom and Dad will be going with Abby and I and it will probably be a long day. Here is what our day looks like:

5am - I have to get up at the butt crack of dawn to get ready for this "exciting day." It must be early b/s Abs has to eat by 6am and can't eat again until after the CT.

5:30 - Picture me showing as much food into Abby as she will accept. The kid usually eats some rice and fruit around 9:30 and then 5oz of formula around 10. It will probably look more like a big bowl of rice followed by a bottle filled to 9 oz. We'll see how much she eats.

7am - leave for the hospital. It is in the city so we have to leave extra time.

8am - Meet with the ophthalmology specialist

9am - Appointment with our neurosurgery nurse practitioner

10am - Appointment with our neurosurgeon

12noon - CT Scan of her brain (I am dreading this part. I just hate having to put her through it.)

2ish - Final meeting with Neuro.

They say we have to wait until Monday to get the results of the CT scan. Since Monday is Christmas Eve I can imagine how easy it will be to try to track down test results that day. Therefore, I am going to beg them to let us hang around til they can tell us something. I don't want to have to go through the holiday wondering how my baby is.

It should be a long day but I will be glad to get to put some of this to bed. Lets all pray for no significant fluid and NO SHUNTS!!!!!!!!!!

About this blog

Over 8 years we have struggled through 3 IUI's, 6 rounds of IVF, several RE's, hundreds of appointments and the loss of three little angels. Now we find ourselves the proud parents of two perfect little girls and a wonderful little boy!!

Both of our girls struggle with some disabilities but that won't keep us down. Each day has it's own brand of insanity but we love it. Most days I am more monkey wrangler than mother but I do the best I can. Todays goal - getting to tomorrow.
