This weekend was a real treat with the girls being sick. On Friday we were at the peditricians office for Abby's chest congestion. She is fine, just a cold. On Saturday the girls were okay, a little fussy but nothing awful. On Saturday night all heck broke loose. We put the girls to bed at normal time and then Bry and I were up til about 1:30. At 3am Grace started screaming her head off. She screamed in pain on and off all night until about 9:30 the next morning. She slept a little in our arms for a few minutes at a time. She is a treat to give Motrin to because she pukes almost all medicines back up. We finally got some Motrin in her and she settled down around 9:30 am. Yesterday both girls had a slight fever and were fussy. Today they both woke up markedly better and slept a lot better. I thought we were in the clear til Grace started fussing around noon and I realized her left ear was covered in crusty gunk. It turns out her Eardrum had perforated and she was in so much pain on Saturday from a bad ear infection. The pediatrician saw us right away today and she does have a bad ear infection and perforated eardrum. They gave her antibiotics, antibiotic drops and have adjusted her stomach meds since reflux can effect mucus production. We have to hope that antibiotics work quickly and the fluid doesn't build back up in her ear and perforate again. If I have said it once I will say it a hundred times... I HATE THE WINTER! Isn't it Spring yet?
