Here is a run down of our appointments and things to do this week.
We have PT on Wednesday with Renee.
We have to schedule our new PT with Early Intervention and should be meeting with them by weeks end.
We have to schedule our assessment for OT, speech therapy and an audiology screening.
The most important (and most exciting) appointment this week is on Tuesday. We FINALLY meet with the pediatric ophthalmologist for Abby's assessment. They will probably be prescribing her glasses this week and may start her patches. I am also hoping to get an idea of how likely the eye surgery will be. Our neuro-ophthalmologist wasn't sure it would be necessary but since then her eyes have gotten so much worse. Frankly I am ready to get this process started. If I have to hear one more person make a comment about how she "doesn't look right" or "there is something wrong with her" or that Brian and I are "missing something" that is wrong I am going to scream and punch someone. I know that sounds extreme but I am so sick of it. I am sick of the pathetic and rude looks people give her. I am sick of hearing backhanded comments from rude family members. Unless you know her and see her in person (to know how "OK" she really is) than shut the heck up. I guess people see pictures and assume that there must be something really wrong. What people don't realize is that the poor kid got this freaking thing from me. I had accomodative esotropia as a very young child and still do. Have you noticed the glasses I wear?!? :>)
Anyway, I know i just went off on a complete tangent. Sometimes it is more than I can handle. Yeah the kid has motor delays and eye problems but she is "all there"... trust me. The kid is smart as a freaking whip.
