Life with Coco and Gigi... and Jack-Jack too!

Life as a Mom, A Homesteader, A Blogger and A Wife.

11 Months Old

Today my precious little angels turned 11 months old. I cannot believe that in a month they will be one. It is hard to fathom where I was just a year ago... anxiously awaiting my girls, not knowing what life was going to bring. Now I sit here the proud MoM of two perfect babies and I can do nothing but smile. :>)

So here is where we are at 11 months:

Gracie
Miss Gigi is doing awesome. She is standing almost on her own and getting ready to start taking steps. She is now "sort of" saying "Rex", "Dada", "Mama", "This", "That" and "Dog-dog." None of them sound like perfect words yet, but progress is progress. She is weighing in at 17lbs 15oz (15th percentile). She is still tiny for her age, but growing well. She still is a Daddy's girl and loves to spend every minute with Daddy. She has a VERY BAD TEMPER and is very demonstrative about what she wants and when she wants it. She carries around her blankie and paci (Wubba Nub of course) everywhere she goes. She sleeps with her stuffed Pony which we have named Penny. We are trying to talk Daddy into her first pony already. She doesn't much like TV but will watch Yo Gabba Gabba when she is tired. She is starting to dance and LOVES music. Her favorite people other than Daddy and Abby are Genna (her BFF), Honey (my Mom), Will & Jordan. She loves my Dad and Bry's parents but her faves are Genna and Honey.

Abby
Little Miss Coco is also doing quite well. She is starting to sit up on her own, although she is still not rolling over. She now weighs 16lb 4oz (still <5th percentile). She is very tiny for her age but so far so good. Her growth is following a preemie curve so the pedi is okay with it. Her eyes are looking awesome, just a little red still. Her left eye drifts a little but no one but us would notice. She has her Physical Therapist, Yemi, coming every Tuesday to work with us. Abby doesn't really like Yemi (cries the whole hour session) but she does her PT for Bry, me or my parents with little complaint. We are working on her core strength right now. Abby is a little TV addict and watched the Backyardigans non-stop. We use it as a great PT tool. Abs is a lot more laid back than her sister and has a little more patient. She is also a paci and blankie baby, but only when she is tired. Her favorite person is still Me but a very close second is her Poppy (my Dad). She just adores him. She loves her Honey and the boys have a way of making her laugh that I can not do.

Twin Stuff
The girls have taken to a new and very annoying habit... fighting. They fight all day over toys, pacies, blankies, food, and people. They will pull out pacies, pull hair, bite and steal toys. Sometimes it is funny and sometimes it is downright annoying. They also make each other smile and laugh. They imitate each others noises in the highchair as if they know what the other is saying. If one starts yelling the other will start right in. When Gracie goes into her crib for sleep she immediately climbs up the rail to check and see if Abby is in her bed. That is really adorable. All in all they do like to play with each other and certainly get a lot of comfort from their sister. I think Abby likes being a twin more than Gracie who thinks she missed out on life by not being an only child.

Is it my imagination or is Gigi longer in the legs and feet?
Super cute girls. They seem so healthy in that video! Bright and interested in themselves and the toys (but not gravity!)

About this blog

Over 8 years we have struggled through 3 IUI's, 6 rounds of IVF, several RE's, hundreds of appointments and the loss of three little angels. Now we find ourselves the proud parents of two perfect little girls and a wonderful little boy!!

Both of our girls struggle with some disabilities but that won't keep us down. Each day has it's own brand of insanity but we love it. Most days I am more monkey wrangler than mother but I do the best I can. Todays goal - getting to tomorrow.
