It never ceases to amaze me how infatuated some people can be with twins. No matter where we go someone stops us to chat. Some days it drives me nuts but most days it just feels nice to know that other people are kind and compassionate. It still is amazing how people are in awe of two babies born at the same time.
While we were on vacation we walked the Boardwalk most nights and I noticed quite a stir on several occasions as we would pass one (and on three occasions TWO) other set of twins or triplets (and one night QUADS!). I couldn't help but hear the peoples comments "omg, look, two sets of twins are passing" or "wow, there are so many sets of twins these days". This happened night after night so I decided to take matters into my own hands. The scientific part of me went to work. I decided I would run a count and see if there really are that many sets of twins out there. So my devised system of "twin counting" unveiled 9 sets one night (a less busy week night) and 11 sets of twins, one set of triplets and one set of quads another night (busier, weekend night). So I guess there really are a lot of twins out there. We are talking about a four or five block Boardwalk and 13 sets of multiples in one night... Crazy!
