20 Months

Today the girls are 20 months old. It is hard to believe how much time has passed since they were born. Some days it feels like they have always been here. Others it feels like they were born yesterday.

So here are their stats:

Gracie: Weighs 22lbs 10 ounces and is up to the 13th percentile for weight. She is wearing 18 month old clothes and I think we are nearing the 24 month size. She is signing a bunch of words but only says Mama, Dog-Dog, Go and No. She can climb, run, tumble, skip and is starting to jump. I got to get this kid in gymnastics. She is sleeping great but doesn't eat that much. Thank goodness for avocados and hummus. She unfortunately is very frustrated with her speech issues so she throws A LOT of temper tantrums. She is also doing a lot of beating up on her sister. Gracie thinks she is about 8 years-old and not 20 months so she thinks she should be doing big girl things. She is definitely our Hare as she likes to act first and fast and think later (think tortoise and the hare)

Abby: Weighs 19 lbs 11 ounces and is still not really on the chart. She is still wearing between 12 month and some 18 month outfits. Abby is stringing two and three words together although not everyone can understand her. She signs as many words almost as she can say. She can walk a good 15-20 minutes with her walker now and is slowly getting stronger. We're not sure we'll make our goal of independent walking by two but she's making steady progress. She is our more whiney twin and screams "WHY" and "SHE BITES" when Gracie gets too close. She is also one of the silliest children I have ever met. She laughs at everything (including her own burping) and can amuse almost anyone she is around. She is definitely our Tortoise as she likes to think and study the world before jumping in.

Both girls are still happily rear facing in their carseats after 20 months. Their carseats are the Britax Marathons and they can safely rear face until 30 lbs. We are keeping an eye on their height but we still have a while to go. Thank God for baby car mirrors.

They are still talking their little twin language which is adorable. I wish I knew what the heck they were talking about all by themselves in their little world. Or maybe I don't want to know.

About this blog

Over 8 years we have struggled through 3 IUI's, 6 rounds of IVF, several RE's, hundreds of appointments and the loss of three little angels. Now we find ourselves the proud parents of two perfect little girls and a wonderful little boy!!

Both of our girls struggle with some disabilities but that won't keep us down. Each day has it's own brand of insanity but we love it. Most days I am more monkey wrangler than mother but I do the best I can. Todays goal - getting to tomorrow.
