Over the past couple of weeks Congress has again been active in the controversy over athletes using steroids and lying about it. As a huge sports fan I think the situation with A-Rod is abominable it also irritates the crap out of me that THIS is what Congress is spending their time on. I realize it is a small percentage of what they do but aren't their more pressing issues than this?
In the same vain I get so irritated when you see people like Marian Jones going to prison. I sat in courtrooms when I worked at WOAR (women organized against rape) and watched as rapists, who everyone is the courtroom knew was guilty, walk out because the jails were so overcrowded.
Maybe we should form a new governing body to deal with this issues or for heaven's sake just kick their asses out of the sport and the record books if they are proved to be using or have used steroids. Just stop bogging down our governing bodies and judicial system with this crap. Seriously, this is what our system should be dealing with right now???
