While Abby was very happy that we got our new fence it also brought about some serious feelings of apprehension for her. She doesn't like to be outside. Mostly because they outside world is like a huge, scary obstacle course waiting to plant her on her head. Helmet or no helmet she fears falling. When we got the new fence I think she was smart enough to realize what this means... MORE OUTSIDE TIME. For most kids this would be great but not for Abby. We are hoping in time she will start to come around and see her backyard as a safe place to be outside.

Love the curls on Abby! Both girls are just too cute :) I'm sure with time she'll be comfortable enough to play outside, lucky you have an enclosed space right out your door!
Is there something you can do to help her feel more at ease? A fun activity to set up outside that makes her want to go play? What about a sand table or something?
M - I told Brian this weekend that if I have to I will buy the kid a portable DVD player if that's what it takes to get her outside. :D I think once the grass is in we might buy a small play yard or climber to entice her.
