Last week Jack woke up from his nap particularly unhappy. He cried and cried and would not settle. This is very odd for my little man. I rocked him and got him settled just in time to head out for the bus. When I set him down on the front porch to grab his little push car he fell to the ground and screamed. I was thinking maybe his shoe pinched or he lost his balance. I was late (as usual) so I took off his shoes, threw them on the porch and ran to the bus.
He sat happily in his car until we returned home but when I put him down I quickly realized my little one couldn't walk without crying. Obviously he had done something to his little foot while napping. I looked him over (and over and over) and nothing was visually wrong. I was worried since babies can catch legs in crib rails without my trying.
I went back and forth and finally decided it wasn't ER bad but the new urgent care center... maybe? I waited for Brian so he could man soccer practice and Abby and I took Jack to the urgent care center. It was beautiful and we were in a room in under ten minutes. All I had to pay was the co pay we pay for a specialist visit!
The doctor was great and his foot was only sprained. We kept him off the foot for a couple days and that was no easy task.
He is now back to himself. Thank goodness it wasn't broken!
