Waiting, waiting, waiting

I have read many statistics about how the average human spends so many days out of their life just waiting for something. Lately it seems that I am doing way more than my fair share of this unending waiting. Waiting for IUI's, waiting to see if the worked, waiting for IVF, waiting to get started, for the procedures and the upcoming fun of the 2 week wait to find out if it worked.

One of my very favorite books is Oh The Places You'll Go, a Dr. Suess classic. It's a wonderfully poignant book about the ups and downs of life; the sucesses... the failures. Once of my favorite pieces of the book is about waiting. It reads:

You can get so confused
that you'll start in to race
down long wiggled roads at a break-necking pace
and grind on for miles across weirdish wild space,
headed, I fear, toward a most useless place.

The Waiting Place...

...for people just waiting.
Waiting for a train to go
or a bus to come, or a plane to go
or the mail to come, or the rain to go
or the phone to ring, or the snow to snow
or waiting around for a Yes or a No
or waiting for their hair to grow.
Everyone is just waiting.

Waiting for the fish to bite
or waiting for wind to fly a kite
or waiting around for Friday night
or waiting, perhaps, for their Uncle Jake
or a pot to boil, or a Better Break
or a sting of pearls, or a pair of pants
or a wig with curls, or Another Chance.
Everyone is just waiting.

That's not for you!

I wish like heck I could say this isn't me. I am ready to stop waiting. I am ready to start living without the weight of waiting.
