Babies R Us Trip

I was finally able to drag my hubby in Babies R Us for the first time. I know this sounds like the most uneventful event, but I have been trying to coax him in for weeks. See, he is not a big shopper so shopping for the tots is not yet high on his list. He keeps telling me to wait to find out the sexes and then he will be more into shopping. But after dinner the other night I asked him if he would go and he very willingly (and surprisingly) said sure. I figured we would spend a whole five minutes before he was ready to bolt.

On the contrary. The first thing we found was the diaper bags and he spend about 10 minutes looking at all the Daddy bags. He was very impressed by the compartments and changing pads. He has already picked out the Daddy bag for him. It was quite cute. We proceeded to strollers where we spent about 20 minutes weighing out options for twins and he made an excellent choice. He has also picked out the Baby Carrier, the glider and a couple potential bedding options. With having twins it makes choosing a lot more complicated (and expensive), but we had a lot of fun.

I think we will probably start registering online in a month or so at Babies R Us. Then we can finish it up in the store. (Thanks for the suggestion Mandy!) That way we can have some of those choices made and taken care of.

Having the option to do it online makes it sooooo much easier. Especially when you're still feeling kinda pukey.

Glad you guys had so much fun. It's neat to see the dads get involved with stuff for the baby. I'm really glad that Cris gave his opinion on the stuff we registered for. That way he doesn't complain that the stroller is uncomfortable when I make him push it through the mall! LOL

It sounds like your first trip was very productive. I hate we don't have a Babies R' Us here.

I've heard lots of folks say to only buy one crib because the babies will prefer to sleep near each other - or at least to hold off until you know.

I also ran across a book called Baby Bargains (I think) that listed a bunch of companies that would send free to stuff to twins (eg, Johnson & Johnson). Knowing me I would probably interview 20 moms of twins and ask for advice. =)

how cute! I remember being soooooo overwhelmed the first time we went to BRU. WAAAAY to much stuff. It seriously took us 3 trips to decide on a friggin pack-n-play!

Baby Bargains is MUST read. Get the lastest edition so you have the latest reviews.

Thanks for the advice on the book. I have a wonderful friend who just lent me that book. I cannot wait for it to get here!

About this blog

Over 8 years we have struggled through 3 IUI's, 6 rounds of IVF, several RE's, hundreds of appointments and the loss of three little angels. Now we find ourselves the proud parents of two perfect little girls and a wonderful little boy!!

Both of our girls struggle with some disabilities but that won't keep us down. Each day has it's own brand of insanity but we love it. Most days I am more monkey wrangler than mother but I do the best I can. Todays goal - getting to tomorrow.
