Still waiting

Hi guys. I am back from my NST and it went very well. Fluid looked good and both girls passed easily. Now I am back to the waiting game...

And to answer a couple of great questions from a blog comment - I am hoping to be able to post from the hospital, but a dear friend will be updating my blog if I can't. We do not need steroids for the girls because of their size and overall development. The docs think they will be just fine! The doc did not advise against activity, although she wants me only moving around when needed. And we did put the car seats in yesterday. The bags are in the house b/c I don't want the toiletries to melt. I am going to go through my bag again today and make sure everything is there.

Take your own pillows. Don't forget your boppy.

Bring Lansinoh brand cream. You will want it. Trust me. (Start using it now. It helps I've been told.)

And pantiliners. I had to send DH out for those as I did not need pads past day 2. Wishful hoping for you as well.

Saturday. You want every extra day you can get. I'm secretely hoping you get to 39 weeks, but that because I want you to have every shot at avoiding the NICU.

My advice for c/s healing... get out of the bed. I had to get up to go see my baby. I got up about 5 hours after, and then about every 3-4 hours to pump or see Syd. I really think that was key to my getting better. Getting up and walking. Hydration was key too. It will be tempting to stay in bed, especially if they have the cathedar in you but get up. It is really hard to get up out of bed at first, but you need to do it.

I'm glad you are still waiting, and hope the babies come when they are ready.

Nutrition is key too. I hydrated like a mad woman the day prior and ate fruits. Your body need water and nutrients to heal and nurse.

Good Luck.

I'm hoping and praying for fat and healthy babies for you, and an easy recovery for you the mama.

Wendy - Thanks so much for the advice!!! I have heard that getting up and moving after a section is the most important part. I am planning to get going as soon as I can. Thanks also for all your prayers and thoughts!!!

About this blog

Over 8 years we have struggled through 3 IUI's, 6 rounds of IVF, several RE's, hundreds of appointments and the loss of three little angels. Now we find ourselves the proud parents of two perfect little girls and a wonderful little boy!!

Both of our girls struggle with some disabilities but that won't keep us down. Each day has it's own brand of insanity but we love it. Most days I am more monkey wrangler than mother but I do the best I can. Todays goal - getting to tomorrow.
