Best OB appointment yet!

I lucked out and Brian got to go with me to my OB appointment today. The power was out at his office so he got a freebe day off. Anyway, everything was normal at the doc and they decided to do the Group B strep test (fun, fun, fun). The doc decided to do the first internal exam while she was down there. (We haven't done one b/c both girls were transverse until this week.) Once she did the exam she had the most surprised look on her face. Turns out I am 3cm dilated and 80% effaced. She thinks I have less than a week left to go. We were SO not expecting that news. I keep joking that I will be unlucky and have to wait til 39 weeks for a section. So now we are trying to wrap our heads around the babies being here any day now. We are so excited and so nervous!

They will still be doing a C-section but won't plan it because I am not yet 36 weeks. They want me to get every extra minute of gestating I can get. Now we have to wait for either my water to break or for patterned contractions. I am really hoping to at least make it to the weeked.

Woo hoo!
Now, can you blog from the delivery room? Just wonderin'?
Nevertheless, this is so great.
I have questions, like Does the doc feel the need to give you the steriods to further develope the babies' lungs? Did the doc advise you to walk or not walk or stay in bed or cross your legs till Saturday?
Is your bag in the car?
?

About this blog

Over 8 years we have struggled through 3 IUI's, 6 rounds of IVF, several RE's, hundreds of appointments and the loss of three little angels. Now we find ourselves the proud parents of two perfect little girls and a wonderful little boy!!

Both of our girls struggle with some disabilities but that won't keep us down. Each day has it's own brand of insanity but we love it. Most days I am more monkey wrangler than mother but I do the best I can. Todays goal - getting to tomorrow.
