We got a date

The OB app't was good today. I lost 3 lbs and am now measuring 50 weeks!!! The best part was that they scheduled my c-section for next Wednesday. The doc thinks I will almost definitely not make it that far, but it is nice to have a date just in case. I also have to go for an amnio on Friday (if I make it that long) to check for lung maturity. That way we know if they should get the steroids or not.

The pain in my back has been on and off, but at least in the off times I can rest. It is hard to explain just how bad the back pain has been because it is not like anything I have ever experiences. On a pain scale it is a 10 with now doubt. The doc said it must be a nerve pain because it comes and goes like it does. When it comes though I have to just sit and breath for over an hour straight because it is so painful. It really has been exhausting.

Woohoo on having a date for the section!

Sorry to hear that the back pain is still there. It's hard to get through, but just try to keep your shoulders relaxed and breathe through it. Keeping the rest of your body relaxed will help with the pain.

We're so excited for you! It must be reassuring to have a date. I think the lung check is a good idea. You can never be too careful, and lung development just isn't something to mess with. The steroid shots are a little painful, but compared to other labor pains, I found the pain paled in comparison!

That's great news! 50 weeks...wow!! I think I was measuring 37 at my last appointment, when I was actually 28, so I'll be seeing 50 one of these days, too.
So, in a week at most you will have your little ones!!!

About this blog

Over 8 years we have struggled through 3 IUI's, 6 rounds of IVF, several RE's, hundreds of appointments and the loss of three little angels. Now we find ourselves the proud parents of two perfect little girls and a wonderful little boy!!

Both of our girls struggle with some disabilities but that won't keep us down. Each day has it's own brand of insanity but we love it. Most days I am more monkey wrangler than mother but I do the best I can. Todays goal - getting to tomorrow.
