We live in NJ. A typical NJ winter brings us into the 30's and 40's but we usually have plenty of sunshine to soften the cold weather. We also don't typically get too much snow. Something in the recent weather patterns have turned our temperate climate into the dang arctic. Last winter it snowed in record amounts. We all (naively) figured it was a one shot deal. We packed up our snow shovels and salt and thought we were done. Then winter rolled around...
And here we are again. Snow. Cold. Shovels. Salt. Boots. Scarves and hats and gloves, oh my! I am not built to handle this kind of weather. All I want to do is get under a big, comfy quilt and read and instead I am suiting up two preschoolers (and myself) to "play" in the frigid white stuff for two VERY cold hours.
Every time it snows I close my eyes and I think of July. I imagine myself at the pool watching the girls splash and play in their bikinis. I pretend I am at the beach or taking a long walk after dinner in the cool evening hours. I long for warm. My skin craves the sun.
Is it spring yet???
