I am lucky that both of my girls took to the water very early on. We had them in the pool as soon as we could.
*Believe it or not they were 2 months old here. SO tiny!
Because they are almost always at the pool or beach in the warmer months it was so important to me that they know hot to swim. By the time Grace was four she could swim and Abby was self sufficient at five.
The big deal is when they can finally take there diving tests at our neighborhood pool. In order to go off the diving board you must be able to pass a test. You have to swim the length of the pool, tread water for 30 seconds and swim back. In all honesty I thought neither of them was anywhere near ready. Meanwhile the boys have been "training the girls". Last night they declared that Grace was ready.
I was a little apprehensive since I didn't think she was ready but... I was wrong. Sister crushed it!
Poor Abs was a great cheerleader until a few minutes later when it dawned on her that she is still a while off of passing her test. (Read more about that here)
Over 8 years we have struggled through 3 IUI's, 6 rounds of IVF, several RE's, hundreds of appointments and the loss of three little angels. Now we find ourselves the proud parents of two perfect little girls and a wonderful little boy!!
Both of our girls struggle with some disabilities but that won't keep us down. Each day has it's own brand of insanity but we love it. Most days I am more monkey wrangler than mother but I do the best I can. Todays goal - getting to tomorrow.
